Our Brimfield Experience

By Stacey Roske

I could hardly contain my excitement as I boarded the plane to Hartford, CT.   My destination - Brimfield, MA. - one of the largest antique markets in the nation.  Jason had left with the trailer four days earlier and would meet me at the airport.  It had been ten years since my last trip to Brimfield - would it be as exciting as I remembered?

It was!  The weather was fantastic, we met some great people and the volume of antiques was nothing less than impressive!

However, as I sat down to write about the trip - the words just would not come.  Instead I kept returning to my photographs - remembering the sites and sounds.   That's when it came to me - let the photographs tell the story!

The following photos begin with our approach to Brimfield and end with a side trip that Jason and I took to Niagara Falls.    The Spring Brimfield show was - Wednesday, May 12 - Sunday, May 16, 2004.      Jason and I were set up in the New England Motel and Antiques Market field.

Enjoy!

We sold a beautiful Victorian bedroom set.   Here's Jason helping to load the truck.

Whatever you are looking for - you are likely to find in Brimfield!

Looking for a large 1950's paper mache cat?  Keith Ryan of  The Forgotten Farm in Tewsbury, MA has one available!

Our good friends Marshall and Vicki Landis have an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage clothing and accessories.   Vicki is modeling a beautiful feather beau!  Another wonderful item I found in their booth was red 1905 blanket in near perfect condition!   What a find!

Marshall and Vicki have been a fixture at the New England Motel and Antiques Market field for 15 years.   They are always in booth 98 on the Main Street.

Looking for Moderne?   Don't worry, the crew at MODHAUS.COM has you covered!

I ran across several booths featuring wonderful architectural elements.

After a fun filled week in Brimfield - it's time to pack up and move out!

On the way home we visited Niagara Falls.    It was breathtaking!

Here is a picture of the river leading up to the falls - you can feel the power of the impending falls.

And the falls - they are beautiful - aren't they.

Two days later we made it home safe and sound!
